Membership
- Develop and manage - recruiting, retention, orientation and mentoring programs.
- Maximize quantity and quality of membership participation.
- Monitor member satisfaction, identify current needs and provide with recommendations to improve.
- Manage registry, data bank and historical statistics, and collect dues.
Program and Training
- Develop and manage high-gain and leading edge parent/guardian-oriented programs and seminars for members, consumers, professionals and the general public.
- Develop orientation/training programs for new members and members in transition.
- Develop presentations/training programs in conjunction with other committees’ needs to promote AMORC’s mission.
Communications – Public Relations - IT
- Prepare and disseminate monthly news e-mails, periodic newsletters and press releases and undertake other publicity activity to broaden and/or improve the perception of AMORC among its various publics.
- Develop and maintain contacts with broadcast, print and online news media.
- Develop, operate and maintain our Web site, list-serve and chat rooms.
- Maintain a membership alert system, assist other committees with their communication/PR needs and promote AMORC’s mission.
Liaison, Advocacy and Political Action
- Represent AMORC at other organizations, agencies, CMHs, school districts, recreation authorities and other relevant civic committees.
- Prepare position papers, organize the membership and enlist other organizations and individuals to support AMORC’s views on relevant issues in connection with advocacy efforts at local, state and federal governments and agencies.
- Develop and maintain advantageous relationships with key decision makers at these organizations and the legislators.
- Train membership in effective political action techniques.
- When appropriate, take advantage of relevant hot topics that can be used to rally the membership to support and make significant difference in the quality of life for the developmentally disabled.
Financial and Fund Raising
- Assist the treasurer in maintaining AMORC’s financial and tax records, budgets, financial plans and statistical data.
- Develop and manage AMORC’s fund raising events to support AMORC’s financial needs.
- Select and promote outside trust funds that are congruent with AMORC’s mission.
Service and Monitoring
- Provide a venue for individuals, companies and organizations to provide volunteer and charitable service to improve the quality of life, in general, for the developmentally disabled and, more specifically, to actively include them in the community.
- Establish and monitor standards of performance for the quality of life of the developmentally disabled in their homes, schools, vocational training, jobs and recreational organizations.
- Take necessary actions to expeditiously correct serious problems and take focused steps to reverse long-term negative trends.
- Facilitate the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement in all aspects of the developmentally disabled’s life.
- Train members in best practices of monitoring and correcting service problems for their developmentally disabled individuals.
